Me and My Girl

Hello from Seattle!

I’m a Web Developer currently at Method in San Francisco. My girlfriend and I just moved here and are looking to enjoy ourselves for a time.

I blog to develop my communication and writing skills, which just aren’t up to snuff with my programming ability. Which means I have a huge hole in my capabilities.

I’ve been programming for about 9 years now, starting with HTML and Javascript progressing to Miva, stumbling over to VBScript for ASP, whipped to use Javascript in ASP, driven to C# and ASP.NET where I stand now a battered developer. All of this was self taught using the wonderful resources of Barnes and Nobles, online documentation and coding at home.

I’m currently looking to improve my productivity utilizing methodologies, refining my Web UI knowledge, and as alluded to earlier, develop my writing and communication skills.

My Karate experience has covered my 8 years there in Seattle as I started slightly before I accepted a job at DataLoom (now defunct). After 6 years I achieved the rank of Sho-dan which is first degree black belt. A black belt is kind of a mystical thing, some schools you can get it in a year, others take you through hell before you see black, so you should be able to guess which one I had to endure before my accomplishment was complete.

If your interested in finding out what Karate can do for you, check out my systems website.
